What to know
- Describe texture, pigment and laxity as separate goals.
- Confirm the device and component actually proposed.
- Compare realistic benefits and limitations consistently.
Separate the features you are comparing
Consider whether your main concern is surface texture, visible lines, uneven-looking pigment or loose-looking skin. You may have more than one goal, but listing them separately helps a provider explain which feature a proposal is intended to address. It also makes the limits of the recommendation easier to understand.
A broad phrase such as rejuvenation does not tell you the method, the depth of treatment or the result to expect. Ask the provider to translate that phrase into a specific treatment goal and explain how they would assess improvement without promising a particular degree of change.

Read the technology description carefully
Cutera describes Secret DUO as combining RF microneedling with a 1540 nm fractional nonablative laser. Xeo+ is a different platform with a 1064 nm laser and optional IPL handpieces. These descriptions explain equipment capabilities; they do not establish which device is used for every Chicago Medspa service name.
Ask which device and component are proposed for your consultation goal. If a treatment is described as resurfacing, clarify whether the proposal is nonablative and what that means for the discussion. If the goal is tightening, ask what evidence and limitations support the particular application being suggested.

Compare plans using the same questions
For each option, ask about the intended change, the provider's relevant training, significant risks and how preparation and recovery will be discussed. Do not compare one treatment's manufacturer headline with another person's individual experience and treat the two as equivalent evidence.
The appropriate next step may be clarification rather than a treatment purchase. A consultation should help you understand whether a proposed method fits your priority and whether another approach should be considered. An equipment list does not establish that all concerns about laxity, pigment and texture can be addressed at once.
