- Confirm both active treatment and appointment time.

Cutera truFlex
truFlex is the electrical muscle-stimulation platform in our practice. Applicators deliver stimulation to selected muscle groups. It is a different technology from a laser or a skincare product.
Muscle stimulation and fat-reduction procedures are different services. Ask your provider to explain the goal and scope of your appointment.
Manufacturer technology information

What the manufacturer describes
truFlex uses Cutera's Multi-Directional Stimulation technology. The US manufacturer information describes improving abdominal tone and strength and strengthening, toning and firming the buttocks and thighs. These are specific muscle-related uses, rather than a description of a laser treatment.
The manufacturer also discusses pairing truFlex with a different device for a broader body-contouring approach. That combination language should not be read as evidence that truFlex alone removes fat. Device photographs, treatment names and proposed outcomes should all describe the same equipment.

Define a muscle-focused goal
A useful consultation begins with the area you want assessed and what change you hope to notice. Ask how the provider will explain the difference between muscle tone, visible contour and a weight-related goal. Those concepts may overlap in everyday language but are different things to evaluate.
Also ask what the appointment includes. A manufacturer may describe an active treatment duration, while a clinic reserves time for assessment, setup and other steps. Confirm the current booking block rather than planning your day around a promotional video or assuming every session has the same length.

Ask about the plan and its limits
The device uses electrical stimulation and requires clinical screening. The manufacturer lists risks such as discomfort, muscle soreness, skin irritation and burns. Discuss the complete safety information with the treating professional, including how your history affects the proposed appointment.
A clear proposal should identify the treatment area, the purpose of the session and how progress will be discussed. It should not substitute a predicted change in weight or clothing size for an individual assessment. Chicago Medspa's complimentary muscle-sculpting consultation provides a starting point for those questions without committing you to a treatment purchase.
