Muscle Sculpting

Build stronger, firmer muscle without a workout. Muscle sculpting uses FDA-cleared electrical muscle stimulation to contract targeted muscle groups — abdomen, buttocks, or thighs — beyond what voluntary exercise achieves.

The Treatment

How Muscle Sculpting Works

Sessions take about 45 minutes with no downtime. A series of sessions over two to three weeks delivers the initial course, with monthly maintenance as needed. Every plan begins with a complimentary consultation to confirm you’re a good candidate. Performed under physician supervision. Results vary by individual.

Candidacy

Who Muscle Sculpting Is Not For

Muscle sculpting uses a medical device, and the device carries a contraindication list that is not negotiable. It is not performed where there is a cardiac pacemaker, defibrillator or any implanted electronic device; where there is a metallic implant under the treatment area; where there is epilepsy; where there are cancerous lesions; after acute trauma or a fracture; after recent surgery; where there is an abdominal or inguinal hernia; or where there is critical limb ischaemia, a blood-flow deficiency or venous thrombosis.

A second list calls for a physician decision rather than an outright no. Pregnancy is not established and is evaluated individually. So are known myocardial arrhythmia and chronic abdominal or gut conditions. The device is never applied across the chest, across the head, over the carotid sinus, over the eyes, or over the trachea or thyroid.

Hernia is screened for specifically, using the manufacturer's pre-screening questionnaire, because an undiagnosed hernia is the contraindication a client is least likely to know they have. That screening happens at the consultation, which is complimentary and carries no obligation to book. Disclose every implant and every condition there, including the ones that feel unrelated.

The Visit

What a Session Actually Involves

Plan for about forty-five to sixty minutes in the suite. Active treatment is commonly around forty-five minutes of that, with the remainder covering positioning, applicator placement and the room turnover that follows.

The initial course is commonly four sessions over about two weeks, run at two to three sessions a week. Some plans run to six. After the course, maintenance is typically monthly. How many sessions suit you depends on your baseline muscle mass, the area being treated and what you are trying to achieve, and your provider sets that with you rather than selling a fixed package.

Come hydrated. There is no downtime afterwards and nothing to apply. Some clients notice transient muscle soreness in the day or two following a session, in the way that a hard training session produces soreness. That is the only routine after-effect, and it settles on its own.

In Context

Where It Sits Beside Our Other Body Services

Muscle sculpting works on muscle. It is not a skin treatment and it is not a wellness infusion, and it is worth being clear about that before you book. If your concern is skin firmness rather than muscle, that is laser skin tightening, a different treatment on a different device. If you are looking at acoustic pressure wave treatment, that is focused shockwave therapy, which runs on its own schedule. And if hydration and vitamin support are what you came in for, that is IV therapy. Your provider will say plainly which of these fits, including when the answer is none of them.

Questions, Answered

How long does a session take?

Sessions take about 45 minutes with no downtime.

How many sessions will I need?

A series of sessions over two to three weeks delivers the initial course, with monthly maintenance as needed. Results vary by individual.

How do I begin?

Every plan begins with a complimentary consultation to confirm you're a good candidate.

How long is a session and how many will I need?

Plan for about 45 to 60 minutes in the suite, of which active treatment is commonly around 45 minutes. The initial course is commonly four sessions over about two weeks, run at two to three sessions a week, and some plans run to six. Maintenance after that is typically monthly.

Is there anything that rules me out?

Yes, and the list is not negotiable. It is not performed where there is a pacemaker, defibrillator or other implanted electronic device, a metallic implant under the treatment area, epilepsy, cancerous lesions, acute trauma or fracture, recent surgery, an abdominal or inguinal hernia, critical limb ischaemia, a blood-flow deficiency or venous thrombosis.

Why do you screen for hernia specifically?

Because an undiagnosed hernia is the contraindication a client is least likely to know they have. We use the manufacturer pre-screening questionnaire at the consultation for that reason. Disclose every implant and every condition there, including the ones that feel unrelated.

Is there downtime?

No. There is nothing to apply and nothing to avoid afterwards. Some clients notice transient muscle soreness in the following day or two, in the way a hard training session produces soreness, and it settles on its own.

How should I prepare?

Come hydrated, and disclose all implants and conditions at the consultation beforehand.
