Advanced Glow Facial in Chicago
Diamond-tip resurfacing combined with infused treatment serums for an immediate, refined 'glass skin' finish.
Performed by Licensed Esthetician
— Overview —
What It Is
The Advanced Glow Facial pairs diamond-tip resurfacing — a precise, controlled exfoliation technique — with infused treatment serums tailored to your skin. The result is a brighter, clearer, more even finish often described as 'glass skin' — visible immediately after a single session.
— The Experience —
How It Works
- Cleanse & Prep. Skin is thoroughly cleansed and prepared for resurfacing.
- Diamond-Tip Resurfacing. A diamond-tipped wand removes the dull outer layer of skin in a controlled, comfortable pass — refining texture and tone.
- Infused Treatment Serums. Custom-selected serums are pressed into freshly prepped skin to brighten, hydrate, and refine for an immediate luminous finish.
— The Method —
What Diamond-Tip Resurfacing Actually Does
Diamond-tip resurfacing is mechanical exfoliation of the outermost layer of the skin, the layer made of dead cells that dulls how light reflects off the surface. The abrasive tip lifts that layer away in controlled passes while gentle suction clears it, which is why the finish is visible the same day: the treatment is removing something that was sitting on top of your skin, not waiting for biology to respond.
Because it uses no light, no heat and no needles, it also has none of the scheduling constraints those tools bring. There is no tan restriction and no seasonal window. Active treatment runs roughly 30 to 45 minutes inside the 50-minute appointment, and the session ends with serums applied to skin that has just been cleared to receive them.

When We Defer, and Why
A short list of situations postpones or redirects this facial. Treatment is not performed over an active skin infection. Fragile skin, and skin with visible surface vessels, is treated cautiously or redirected, because mechanical exfoliation can aggravate vessels that sit close to the surface: facial capillaries are their own concern, addressed with light on our IPL photofacial page, and a discrete visible vessel is usually a laser vein treatment conversation instead.
Two medication questions matter. Isotretinoin calls for a deferral judged by your provider, because mechanical abrasion is treated more conservatively than surface treatments that do not abrade. Blood-thinning medication does not rule the facial out, but it makes pinpoint bruising more likely, so tell your esthetician before the session rather than after. Expected effects are otherwise modest: transient redness, occasionally faint pinpoint marks, and mild surface sensitivity that settles quickly.
— The Series —
Why the Series Is Spaced the Way It Is
A single session is listed in our booking at $195. The series most people run is about six sessions spaced two to four weeks apart, and the spacing is not arbitrary: the skin's surface renews on roughly a monthly cycle, so each session clears the layer the previous weeks produced. Monthly maintenance keeps the finish once the series is done.
Booking closer together than your esthetician recommends does not compound the effect, because there is only so much surface to lift at a time. This is a treatment that rewards cadence rather than intensity.

Choosing Among Our Resurfacing Options
This facial is one of several ways we resurface. Where you want vellus hair removed along with the surface layer, dermaplaning does both with a blade rather than a tip. Where hydration is the priority, the hydrodermabrasion facials on our medical facial menu exfoliate with fluid rather than abrasion. Where the concern is deeper than the surface, tone and texture change is the territory of chemical peels and microneedling, with or without PRP. Your esthetician will say which fits at your complimentary consultation.

What to Expect After
Skin may appear slightly flushed for a short period and feels noticeably smoother. Use sunscreen daily, avoid harsh actives for 24 hours, and follow your home routine. Results are immediate, with cumulative refinement over a series.
